Bad day for Croatian tennis players - Lukas and Mrdeza are out of game
The third day of the WTA Croatia Bol Open started badly for Croatian tennis team. Slovakia's Kristina Kucova was better than Teresa Mrdeza in three sets (3: 6, 6: 4, 6: 3), and later it continued in the same tone, Romanian Irina Bara beat Tena Lucas with 6: 3, 6: 0.
"I am never happy to play against home players because all eyes are on them, as well as the hopes of the fans. I played great today - I haven't missed almost anything ", the 26 years old Romanian said with satisfaction after the triumph.
Tereza Mrdeza started well, but she didn't last. Although she led in the first set with 4-0 lead against 31 year old Slovakian Kristina Kucova, Mrdeza lost in the next two. She was angry on herself after the match.
"Teresa played very well, especially in the beginning. It took me a while to get used to the Central court which is different from the one I played in the first round. I managed to catch the rhythm and move on", said Kucova.
Although many players adore tournament in Bol, she is not one of them. You must be wondering why. The conditions in Bol doesn't suit her, Kuchova said, revealing the reason: "I'm allergic to olive trees.".
A series of good matches is behind us. We look forward to the next day.
