What a play. And what an outcome. Tara Wurth defeated the third place holder of the WTA Makarska Open, Russian Anastasia Potapova, and advanced to the quarterfinals. It was a real night thriller that ended around 11PM, and Tara celebrated with 2:6, 6:3, 6:4.

We saw everything in that match, top points, upheavals, there were even fireworks during the match. The sky above Makarska was illuminated by rockets fired on the occasion of the opening of the Places by Valamar hotel. There was a party there, and many Tara fans celebrated in the central field.

"I have no words. When I know I watched that girl on TV and admired her, now it was a little weird for me to play against her. But I really enjoyed it, I did my best and here I am, "Tara told us.

It was not easy, but she found the recipe after losing the first set.

"The first set made me a little nervous, but in the second I tried to find a way, there was everything. The audience was great, the right atmosphere, I'm really happy, "said Tara.

The second Croatian representative in the second round, Antonija Ružić, did not succeed, Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova was better than her with 6:3, 7:5.

The first seed, the Russian Varvara Gračeva, also dropped out, defeated by the Serbian Olga Danilović 6:4, 6:3.

"It was hard, it's hellish heat, but I endured," the nice Olga told us.

Today on the quarterfinal schedule, Tara Wurth will play her second match expected around 3PM against Czech Linda Noskova, the 184th player in the world. Today's program will be opened by Olga Danilović and Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, and the schedule includes German Jule Niemeier and Russian Anastasia Gasanova, as well as Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Frenchwoman Clara Burel.
