Joško Gvardiol, Nenad Bjelica, Filip Ivić, Ivan Dodig, Tea Pijević, Ivan Klasnić, Slaven Bilić, Stipe Žunić and Martin Erlić supported women's tennis and the 17th edition of the WTA tournament, the second to be held in Makarska. In short video messages, they invite tennis and sports fans from June 5 to 11 to the city under Biokovo, and in video messages to the presentation of the WTA Makarska Open hosted by Valamar program in Zagreb, along with the Egyptian tennis player Mayar Sherif, Croatian representatives Tena Lukas also called, Antonija Ružić and Petra Marčinko, who can't wait to play at home.

At the press conference, tournament director Feliks Lukas announced which tennis players were given invitations: Petra Marčinko, Tena Lukas, Antonia Ružić, Krisitna Dmitruk and additional invitations for TOP 50 tennis players - Mayar Sherif, Martina Trevisan. Our tennis players like Ana Konjuh, Jane Fett and Tara Wurth are also on the registration list, who still have a chance to play in Makarska, depending on the results at Roland Garros.

Tennis fans can buy tickets through the Adriaticket system, and all sales proceeds will be donated to the Makarska association Mucrum for the purchase of the first therapy dog ​​that will facilitate work with children with developmental disabilities.

In addition to a strong sports segment, the WTA Makarska Open also has a rich entertainment program, the world-famous pianist Lola Astanova will play in the Tennis Center and will record an official video during her visit to Makarska. Next, local stars Albina, Cambi and the Slovenian DJ duo Vanillaz will perform, and an attractive program is also organized on the main square of Makarska as part of WTA City.

Hosting major sporting events contributes to the growth and development of sports tourism, which is an important factor for the development of year-round tourism, which is one of our main goals. For this reason, the Government of the Republic of Croatia, through a three-fold increase in allocations for sports in the last seven years, has placed special emphasis on supporting sports events, which has been co-financed so far about a hundred major competitions worth 25 million euros. I believe that we will again see an excellent tournament in Makarska, both in terms of competition and organization".
